Helios Data is rapidly accelerating its growth and is adding to all its customer facing teams. As a key contributor in a team to test complex multi-service data and network products for Data Center and cloud environments, the person will work as a senior engineer to test out an advanced data management platform, resolve internal and external customer issues, collaborate with product management, development, data scientist and other functional teams during the entire product development and release cycle. 

Requirements

• MS or PhD in CS/CE/EE with 3+ years of software development or testing experience, or BS in CS/CE/EE with 5+ years SW development or testing experience;   

• Familiarity with Python, Java, JavaScript, UNIX shell, HTML, CSS, Selenium, SQL, and the latest cloud automation technologies.  

• Extensive Knowledge and experience in TCP/IP networking and L7 application protocols.  Good understanding of network and system security. 

• Extensive experience in Linux and/or other UNIX variants in embedded systems. 

• Hands-on experience in virtualized environments on premises and in cloud, such as VMware vSphere and GCP. Familiar with Docker container and Kubernetes micro-service infrastructure. 

• Highly desirable: knowledge and experience in RDBMS, NOSQL DB, Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Hive/Impala, Kafka, and the ETL/ELT data processing pipelines in big data environment. 

• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills   

• Self-motivated team player, and capable of working in a fast-paced R&D environment
